Hizashi (日差し), the Japanese word for sunshine, evokes the warmth of the sun’s rays, casting a luminous glow that illuminates the world. Pensacola — known for lush beaches, crashing waves, and an endless summer — embodies the feeling of Hizashi.

At the heart of our convention lie engaging activities like cosplay contests, Japanese pop performances, and fan panel discussions with guests, including voice actors and media figures. Moreover, educational exhibits and panels led by local scholars will deepen attendees’ appreciation of Japanese culture. The convention will also feature a maid café, immersing attendees in one of Shinjuku’s most unique experiences.

HizashiCon is organized by the Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida and is an official grant-supported participant of Foo Foo Festival 2025.

This year, HizashiCon will be spread across three days: a joint event with 309 Punk Project and trivia with Coastal Cat Cafe on October 30, the main convention and concert on October 31, and brunch with Coastal Cat Cafe and a continuation of the convention on November 1.
