Yes! We encourage everyone to cosplay, but it is not required. We do ask that all cosplayers keep a few things in mind:
1. All costumes must cover the swimsuit area for the duration of the event. HizashiCon is
open to all ages. Inappropriate costumes will be denied entry and asked to change or modify their outfit.
2. All weapons must be clearly fake (marked as toy/replica with orange tags, etc) and cannot be classified as live steel (metal blades, dull or sharp) in any way. Props made of foam, plastic, or wood are permitted with a weapons check tag. If you have any doubts, please contacts us.
3. Please respect the venue space, wares, and other guests. Seal all body paint, fake blood, or glitter. If your costume leaves residue or droppings (such as feathers) please find a way to prevent/minimize this. HizashiCon volunteers or staff have the right to ask anyone in violation to modify their costume or leave the venue.
Are there any age restrictions?
HizashiCon is family friendly. However, some panels may have PG-13 or 18+ restrictions. Legal IDs will be checked at the door for ALL 18+ panels. However, it is the responsibility of parents and attendees to use their discretion regarding PG and PG-13 programming.
All After Party programming is subject to the discretion of the sponsors and their venues. Please reach out to Coastal Cat Cafe and The Handlebar 850 for more information.

Yes! There will be multiple snack and drink vendors around the convention. HizashiCon will also host food trucks such as No Borders Street Food, others To Be Announced.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes! Free public parking is available along East Wright Street, East Belmont, & North Guillemard surrounding the church property, as well as the church owned parking lots off Guillemard. Visitor parking is located directly in front of the Main Sanctuary on East Wright Street. These spaces are available on a first-come first-served basis and may be claimed by attendees of the nearby Palafox Market.
Additionally, First Baptist Church has two parking lots at La Rua and Guillemard Streets that may be used for HizashiCon parking.
Designated Handicap parking as well as assisted parking is available on East Wright Street.
There are a variety of other free and paid parking spaces available in downtown Pensacola. Pay careful attention to applicable signage for time limits, fees, and other restrictions. Visit the City of Pensacola’s interactive parking map for more information.
Is there a place to drop-off without parking?
To drop off or pick up guests with special mobility needs, head west on Wright Street from Tarragona Street. This will provide the closest access to the Wright Place and Wesley Abbey entrances.
What do I do with my wristband?
Your HizashiCon wristband is your ticket for the three-day event and should be worn at all times, so do not remove it after the Friday night concert. (It is waterproof and can be worn in the bath or shower.) Failure to display the wristband may result in your expulsion from the premises.
What is included with my wristband?
Your wristband is your ticket into the HizashiCon Concert on October 31st, the Convention Day on November 1st, and the sponsored activities at Coastal Cat Cafe on November 2nd. Presenting your wristband at Coastal Cat Cafe on November 2nd affords you $5 off admission to the Cat Room.
Your wristband is your admission ticket, a revocable license to attend HizashiCon. It entitles you to attend HizashiCon activities, including official programming in, educational and Q&A panels, meeting our special guests, and shopping the vendor floor. Some activities (like competing in the cosplay contest) are included with admission but require registration.
